A monthly budget of PLN 1,500 net opens up a useful range of three- to five-year-old hatchbacks, estates, compact crossovers and some light commercial vehicles. There is no need to settle for the smallest cars on the market. A Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla, Kia Ceed or Dacia Duster can all fall within reach, provided the contract term, initial payment and final purchase option are set sensibly.
The vehicle’s asking price does not tell you what the monthly payment will be. Two cars priced at PLN 85,000 gross can differ by several hundred złoty a month. Age, residual value, finance term and even the vehicle’s origin all affect the calculation.
The figures below are estimates. We assume a Polish operating lease over 48–60 months, an initial payment of 10–20% and a final purchase option of 10–20%. Vehicle prices are shown gross, including VAT, while monthly lease payments are net of VAT. The actual quote will always depend on the finance provider’s current terms and its assessment of the applicant and vehicle.
Extending the contract is usually the simplest way to reduce the monthly cost. A car worth PLN 85,000 gross may fit the budget when financed over 60 months, yet sit well above it on a 36-month agreement. There is a limit, though. Finance providers consider how old the vehicle will be when the lease ends, so a six-year-old car will not always qualify for another five years of financing.
The initial payment matters too. At 10%, the business keeps more cash available but faces a higher monthly commitment. Raising the contribution to 20% may cut the payment by PLN 150–300, depending on the car and contract structure.
That is not always the right move. If putting in another PLN 8,000–10,000 would drain the company account, accepting a slightly higher payment may be safer. Servicing, tyres and insurance still need to be paid for.
The final purchase option also changes the numbers. A higher amount due at the end reduces the monthly payments but defers part of the cost. This can suit a business owner who expects to sell or replace the vehicle when the agreement expires. If the plan is to keep the car for years, a lower final payment is often more comfortable.
Insurance must be included in the budget as well. In Poland, mandatory third-party liability cover and comprehensive insurance can either be paid separately or added to the lease payments. In the latter case, a car that only just fits within PLN 1,500 can suddenly cost PLN 1,650–1,750 net a month. A low lease payment does not necessarily mean low running costs.
For many small businesses, an ordinary compact remains the most rational choice. It looks professional enough for client meetings, is comfortable on longer journeys and generally costs less to run than an older premium SUV.
A 2021–2023 Octavia typically costs around PLN 75,000–100,000 gross. With a longer agreement and a 15–20% initial payment, examples fitted with the 1.0 TSI or 1.5 TSI engine may come in at roughly PLN 1,200–1,500 net a month.
It is a practical choice for a sales representative, installer or business owner who regularly carries samples, tools or luggage. The estate has an exceptionally large boot, while parts and servicing are widely available across Poland.
Ex-fleet cars with high mileages need closer inspection. An Octavia showing 130,000 km is not automatically a poor purchase if it has a complete service history and spent most of its life on motorways. Missing maintenance records are a different matter.
The saloon, hatchback and Touring Sports estate from 2021–2023 usually fall between PLN 75,000 and PLN 105,000 gross. Lower-spec petrol cars and higher-mileage hybrids may be available for around PLN 1,250–1,500 net per month.
The Corolla works particularly well in urban use, especially with the hybrid drivetrain. Fuel consumption on short journeys can be noticeably lower than in a turbocharged petrol car. Its advantage narrows on the motorway, and the sound and behaviour of the e-CVT under hard acceleration will not suit everyone.
Mechanically, however, it remains one of the safer choices for intensive business use.
Neither holds its value quite as strongly as the Toyota. That can work in the used-car buyer’s favour, allowing a newer example to be purchased for similar money. Cars registered between 2021 and 2024 generally cost PLN 60,000–85,000 gross, giving estimated payments of PLN 950–1,350 net.
That leaves some room for better equipment, an automatic transmission or a shorter finance term. With a Kia, check whether every service was completed on schedule. The long manufacturer warranty is only useful if the previous owner complied with its conditions.
The Ford Focus can fill a similar role. A 2021–2022 example priced at PLN 65,000–90,000 gross should produce a monthly payment of approximately PLN 1,050–1,450 net. The Focus is excellent to drive, but the specific engine version and the maintenance history of any automatic gearbox need to be checked before purchase.
The Dacia Duster does not pretend to be a premium car. That is part of its appeal. Models from 2021–2023 can be found for PLN 65,000–90,000 gross, with indicative lease payments of PLN 1,050–1,450 net.
In return, the buyer gets straightforward engineering, useful ground clearance and an interior that can cope with muddy boots and everyday site work. The plastics are hard, refinement is average and the seats are not as comfortable as those in an Octavia on a long motorway journey.
For a construction team, surveyor or field service technician, it can still be a more honest choice than an older SUV carrying a German premium badge.
Used examples of the Hyundai Kona, Kia Stonic and Renault Captur also appear in this price range. They are easy to use around town but do not provide the load capacity of a conventional estate. Anyone carrying products or equipment every day will notice the difference quickly.
PLN 1,500 net a month will not cover a nearly new large panel van, but it can be enough for a smaller commercial vehicle. Typical options include the Renault Kangoo, Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Opel Combo from 2020–2023.
Vehicles priced between PLN 70,000 and PLN 100,000 gross may generate monthly payments of around PLN 1,150–1,500 net. The lower end usually applies to vans with a larger initial payment or higher mileage.
The condition of the load area can reveal more than the paintwork. Inspect the suspension, clutch and fuel-injection system as well. A clean exterior will not tell you whether the van spent its working life carrying 200 kg or 800 kg every day.
If the vehicle is expected to earn money, choosing purely on the lowest payment is a false economy. A van sitting in a workshop for a week can cost more than several months of saving PLN 100 on the lease.
BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class models do appear within this budget. They will, however, be older or considerably more worn than a Corolla or Ceed available for the same monthly payment. Their age may also restrict the maximum lease term.
The lease might cost PLN 1,450 net a month, followed by a first major service bill of PLN 8,000 gross. Tyres, comprehensive insurance, brakes and automatic gearbox repairs do not become cheap just because the car was bought used.
If the vehicle has a genuine image-related role for a law firm or consultancy, the decision may be defensible. With a tight operating budget, a newer compact is the safer option.
When looking for a car at up to PLN 1,500 a month, start by calculating several contract structures. Compare initial payments of 10% and 20%, then check terms of 48 and 60 months. Do not set the final purchase option to the maximum simply to produce an attractive figure on screen. That amount will eventually have to be paid or covered by the proceeds from selling the car.
The Carmore lease payment calculator provides a quick way to see which vehicles genuinely fit the company budget. You can compare a three-year-old Octavia with a newer Ceed, test the effect of a larger initial contribution and rule out cars that only look affordable under unrealistic assumptions.
If a bank has declined the application or offered unacceptable terms, contact Carmore. A refusal does not always end the search. A different contract structure, another finance provider or a vehicle with a more acceptable valuation may change the outcome.
Every application remains subject to an individual credit and vehicle assessment, so no reputable adviser can guarantee approval. What can be done is to explore realistic alternatives instead of submitting the same application again and expecting a different result.
