City car lease under PLN 800, realistic options

A monthly payment below PLN 800 net is achievable. It is not, however, available without conditions. For a used B-segment car, the figures usually work only when a sensible purchase price is combined with a 48- or 60-month term, an upfront payment and a carefully chosen buyout amount.

Cars registered between 2020 and 2023 and priced at roughly PLN 45,000–60,000 gross offer the widest choice. This bracket includes the Dacia Sandero, Renault Clio, Skoda Fabia, Opel Corsa and Hyundai i20. A Toyota Yaris may fit too, although it will usually require a larger down payment or an older car.

This is where the details start to matter. Two cars advertised at PLN 55,000 can produce very different monthly payments. The sales document, vehicle age, mileage, origin and the leasing company’s valuation all affect the calculation.

What does it take to stay below PLN 800?

A 60-month agreement gives the best chance of reaching this payment level. Reducing the term to 36 months increases the monthly cost sharply, even if the car is priced below PLN 50,000. For a small business focused on cash flow, a longer agreement often makes more sense than paying a high instalment simply to finish the lease sooner.

The next factor is the initial payment. With no money down, the choice becomes very limited. A more realistic structure involves paying 15–25% of the car’s value upfront. On a PLN 50,000 vehicle, that means approximately PLN 7,500–12,500, depending on how the price and VAT are treated.

Then there is the buyout. Setting it at 20–30% reduces the monthly instalment but moves part of the cost to the end of the agreement. This can work well for a business that wants to retain cash now and already has a plan to purchase or sell the car later. It works far less well when a large final payment comes as a surprise after five years.

An indicative structure could look like this:

  • vehicle price of PLN 50,000–55,000 gross,

  • 20% initial payment,

  • 60-month agreement,

  • 20–25% buyout,

  • monthly payment of approximately PLN 650–800 net.

This is not a quote for a specific vehicle. The cost of finance, invoice type and customer assessment can change the result by anything from a few dozen to several hundred złoty.

Sandero: more car for less money

The Dacia Sandero is one of the first cars we check when the budget is tight. Examples from 2021–2023 are available for roughly PLN 45,000–58,000 gross, mainly with the 1.0 TCe petrol engine. Factory LPG versions also appear from time to time.

It is a straightforward, spacious car with no premium aspirations. That is precisely why it works. Parts are readily available, the engineering is not needlessly complicated, and the cabin copes well with commuting, customer visits and carrying small parcels.

Average sound insulation and hard interior plastics are part of the deal. The Sandero makes no attempt to look more expensive than it is. If a low entry cost matters most, though, it deserves serious consideration.

Clio and Fabia cost more, but are easier to resell

The fifth-generation Renault Clio is well suited to city driving without becoming tiring on longer journeys. Used 1.0 TCe models generally cost around PLN 50,000–65,000. A car near the bottom of that range, paired with a 20–25% upfront payment, can realistically stay below the target monthly figure.

The Clio has a more contemporary interior than the Sandero and often comes with better equipment. Automatic climate control, reversing cameras and driver-assistance systems are not unusual. There is also more electronics to inspect. Before buying, test the infotainment, parking sensors and every warning or notification displayed on the dashboard.

The Skoda Fabia is the more conservative choice. Late third-generation cars, particularly those registered in 2020 and 2021, still fall within the PLN 48,000–60,000 range. The fourth-generation Fabia usually costs more and is harder to finance at such a low monthly payment.

Its strengths are a large boot, intuitive controls and broad service support across Poland. Well-maintained cars also retain reasonable resale value. With TSI engines, check the oil-change history. DSG-equipped cars require a proper road test and documentation confirming that the transmission has been serviced correctly.

Corsa, i20 and Rio: sensible middle-ground choices

The F-generation Opel Corsa is often overlooked in favour of the Clio or Fabia, yet it can be more competitive on price. Cars from 2020–2022 generally cost between PLN 48,000 and PLN 62,000. At the lower end of the budget, expect a petrol engine with a manual gearbox.

Before buying a Corsa with the 1.2 PureTech engine, inspect the service history carefully. Pay particular attention to the condition and inspection intervals of the timing belt, which runs in oil. This does not make every 1.2 PureTech a bad purchase. A car with no supporting records, however, is best avoided, even if the lease payment looks excellent.

The Hyundai i20 and Kia Rio are less showy but often make sound business cars. Basic petrol versions cope well with urban use, and prices tend to sit between PLN 48,000 and PLN 60,000. The Rio has a more traditional cabin, while the newer i20 looks more modern and may offer a stronger equipment list.

Service history matters in both cases. The fact that the car originally came with a long manufacturer warranty is not enough. Keeping that cover valid depended on servicing the vehicle on schedule.

The Toyota Yaris does not always suit a low-payment deal

The Yaris is durable, economical and strong on residual value. Those are clear advantages for an owner, but not necessarily for someone seeking the lowest possible monthly cost. Hybrid cars from 2020–2022 often command PLN 60,000–75,000, with well-equipped examples priced higher still.

A payment below PLN 800 net is possible, but it will usually require a 25–30% initial contribution, a long term and a higher buyout. An older third-generation Yaris is another option. In that case, the leasing company’s maximum permitted vehicle age at the end of the agreement must be checked first.

The hybrid makes most sense when the car spends much of its time in urban traffic and regularly sits in congestion. At low annual mileages, the fuel saving may not offset the higher purchase price.

A low monthly payment can hide a great deal

An offer at PLN 699 net per month may appear better than one at PLN 790 until the upfront payment and buyout are compared. If the cheaper-looking option requires 30% at the start and another 35% at the end, it may not cost less overall. The payments have simply been distributed differently.

Before making a decision, calculate four figures: the initial payment, total monthly instalments, final buyout and all compulsory agreement-related charges. These may include insurance, administration fees, registration or extra security requirements. A used car also needs a separate budget for its first service. Oil, filters, tyres and brakes can easily cost more than one monthly payment.

The sales document also affects the figures. In Poland, a car sold on a standard 23% VAT invoice may be calculated differently from one offered under the VAT-margin scheme. The advertised price therefore tells only part of the story. The exact vehicle must be entered into the lease calculation before the real cost becomes clear.

Financing a city car for your business

Every provider assesses both the customer and the vehicle, so the way the agreement is structured matters. It may be possible to adjust the term, increase the initial payment, choose a less expensive car or provide documents that present a clearer picture of the situation. Sometimes the difference is as simple as replacing a PLN 70,000 Yaris with a PLN 54,000 Clio. Basic, but effective.

The Carmore calculator lets you adjust the vehicle price, lease term, initial payment and buyout to see how each change affects the monthly cost. Financing is handled online and is available to both private individuals and companies, including sole traders, a more convenient and quicker route than a standard branch visit. If you would like help choosing the right structure, speak to a Carmore adviser. We will review the specific car and your circumstances before setting the figures.
